Players - What to do now
You have the right to be safe. If you don’t feel safe or you feel uncomfortable because of the way someone is touching you, then you need to tell someone.
Sometimes physical contact will occur because the coach is showing you a new skill or attending to an injury. You need to know that:
- physical contact should be minimal
- you should be asked permission before a coach demonstrates a skill
- you should never be touched in areas that make you feel uncomfortable and
- you and your team mates should be congratulated or comforted in public, not in private.
You will be believed and your concerns will be taken seriously.
