Parents - What to do now
As a parent you are responsible for modelling appropriate behaviour, monitoring your child’s conduct and well being and speaking up if you notice discriminatory or vilifying actions on or off the field.
- Encourage and explain to your child the importance of good sportsmanship.
- Monitor your child’s behaviour and speak up if you notice discriminatory or vilifying actions on or off the field by or against your child.
- Support your child in making a complaint, or make the complaint on behalf of your child, if they are the target of discrimination or vilification.
- Speak with a Member Protection Information Officer for information about your options.
