Administrators - What to do next

  • Provide leadership and create a culture opposed to all forms of sexual harassment.
  • Develop or adopt a Member Protection Policy that clearly states sexual harassment is unacceptable. This policy should describe what constitutes sexual harassment, the ramifications for those engaging in this behaviour and the process for dealing with complaints
  • Communicate your Member Protection Policy to all members, coaches and others using all the different communication mediums available to you: (e.g., reinforcing Codes of Behaviour at events, putting up posters in club rooms, placing messages on your website and in newsletters).
  • Provide training  and support for people in positions of responsibility (e.g., administrators and coaches, so that they know how to prevent sexual harassment and what steps to take should they receive a complaint).
  • Make sure members know the identity of your Member Protection Information Officer  (MPIO) and the steps they need to follow if they wish to make a complaint.
