Parents - What to do now

As a parent your behaviour has a big impact on your child’s self esteem and what he or she regards as acceptable and unacceptable behaviour. It’s therefore important that you encourage your child to treat others with dignity and respect and that you support them if they’re being unfairly treated. 

• Discuss any concerns with your child.
• Be supportive.
• Find out about your club’s Member Protection (or anti-discrimination policy) and Code of Behaviour.
• Talk to your child’s coach or Member Protection Information Officer if you have any concerns about religious discrimination or wearing the hijab/modifications to the club’s uniform.
