Players - What to do now
As a player you should accept decisions about team selection unless you feel criteria and processes have not been followed or that the decision is discriminatory.
- Discuss queries about team criteria or processes with the selectors.
- Seek feedback on why you missed out on selection and what you need to do to improve your performance to increase your chance of selection in the future.
- Remember that non-selection is not a personal attack. Most elite athletes have experienced non-selection at some stage in their career. Try and view non-selection as an opportunity to focus on improving your performance and show others that you can bounce back.
- Find out about the processes for appealing team selection decisions (if there is one). If you feel you have been discriminated against contact your anti-discrimination agency for advice.
