Administrators - What to do next
- Review and check that your organisation’s constitution, by-laws, organisational structures, plans, policies and practices prevent and address discrimination.
- Make sure your Member Protection or other welfare policy does not tolerate sexism.
- Communicate your Member Protection Policy to all members using all the different communication mediums available to you e.g., reinforcing Codes of Behaviour at events, putting up posters in club rooms, placing messages on your website and in newsletters.
- Provide support to women who want to develop their expertise in coaching or management.
- Introduce a mentoring program for aspiring administrators, coaches and officials to develop their expertise.
- Schedule meetings for times that do not disadvantage members with family and work responsibilities.
- Make sure members know the identity of your Member Protection Information Officer and the steps they need to follow if they wish to make a complaint.
- Contact your state sporting body, the Australian Human Rights Commission or your state anti discrimination agency for advice on equity strategies.
