Players - What to do now
As a player you are responsible for conducting yourself in a respectful, non-discriminatory manner and following your club’s Code of Behaviour. You also have the right to participate fully in team and club activities free from discrimination and harassment.
If you think that your club’s rules and membership regulations are discriminatory.
- Talk to your sport’s Member Protection Information Officer or another trusted authority about the issue and explore possible strategies for addressing the matter.
- Contact your state anti-discrimination agency for free confidential advice.
- Write to the club committee requesting they review their membership rules and explain the reason for your concern.
- Consider lodging a complaint with your state sporting organisation if you are not satisfied with the committee’s decisions.
