“Surfing, like many sports, is highly competitive. It’s also often seen as a man’s sport.

If I believed I couldn’t compete because I was a woman, I would never have become a seven times world surfing champion.  Had I chosen to believe that I couldn’t help govern my sport because I was a woman, I wouldn’t have sat on the Board of Directors of the ASP for a number of years, helping support the successful future of women’s surfing.

Australians involved in sport need to know their responsibilities to help ensure everyone can take part in the sport of their choice, without discrimination, in a positive and encouraging environment.  Play By the Rules offers the information and support to help make sure this happens. ”
