This course will focus on responsibilities required of an accredited Member Protection Information Officer (MPIO).

The MPIO training course is in two parts – this online course, and a workshop, which you must also complete to be accredited. Visit the Member Protection Information Officers page for more information.

By the end of the training, you will be able to:

  • Identify your sport’s child safeguarding and member protection policies and relevant complaint handling contacts.
  • Explain the responsibilities of a Member Protection Information Officer in a sporting organisation.
  • Utilise skills in listening, decision making and trauma-informed practice.
  • Identify if a matter raised is a potential breach of your organisation’s policy.
  • Advise on options available to participants who have witnessed or experienced prohibited conduct.
  • Advise on action clubs can take to promote safe, fair and inclusive sport.
