A research team at Victoria University, led by Dr. Mary Woessner, is seeking to speak to young men (aged 18-25 years old) in Australia who have had unsafe, harmful or abusive experiences while playing or being involved in (volunteering) in organised (club) community sport. The project is funded by Movember and is exploring how experiences in sport, like bullying, harassment or abuse can affect young men’s mental health. The goal is to understand the environment and challenges so we can create safe sport spaces and support young men in looking after their mental health.

Involvement: Participation in one 60minute online interview

Eligibility:

  • Young men (18-25) including non-binary and transmen
  • Have played or been involved (as a volunteer, official etc), in community sport (current or past)
  • Are willing to speak about their experiences

Support: There will be a $50 reimbursement in the form of an online giftcard after the interview.

To express interest, please complete this brief form and they will reach out to schedule an interview.
